Barbara Busch

First Lady of Real Estate!

We moved to Southwest Florida in 2017 from Minnesota, ready to trade snow boots and salt on the roads for sunshine, palm trees, and a little salt on the rim of a margarita.

What started as a lifestyle move quickly became home.

Then real estate found me.

I started saying to my friends, “Won’t you be my neighbor?” and asking them to let me help them find their own piece of paradise here in Southwest Florida.

One move led to another, and before I knew it, helping people buy and sell homes became such a natural extension of the life I already loved.

And yes, I moved my daughter and her family here too, because being close to my granddaughters matters more than just about anything. Mamas and Grammys… IYKYK.

Today, I get to help others make the same kind of move we did , whether that means relocating, buying a second home, investing, or selling to start your next chapter.

For me, real estate isn’t just about houses.

It’s about where you live, how you live, and who you get to live life with.

Your SWFL Questions Answered

1. Is Southwest Florida really a good place to live year-round?

Absolutely. We came for the sunshine and stayed for the lifestyle. Yes, summers are warm, but we also get boating, pools, outdoor dining, sunsets, and no scraping ice off the windshield. I’ll take that trade. 😉

2. Cape Coral or Fort Myers — how do I know which is right for me?

That depends on the lifestyle you want. Cape Coral is known for canals, boating, waterfront homes, and more residential neighborhoods. Fort Myers offers a mix of established communities, condos, shopping, dining, and easy access to beaches and surrounding areas. I help you narrow it down based on how you actually want to live, not just the house.

3. Do I need to worry about flood zones and insurance?

You need to understand them, not be scared of them. Flood zones, elevation, insurance costs, roof age, and storm protection can all affect a Southwest Florida purchase. These are exactly the things we look at together so you know what you’re buying before you fall in love with the lanai.

4. What if I’m months away from moving?

Perfect. Start early. The more time we have to talk through neighborhoods, pricing, lifestyle, financing, and what matters most to you, the easier the process becomes when you’re ready. You do not need to be buying next week to start the conversation.
